DifferentTook a minute to get into, but I think that's because there are so many POVs to keep up with。 Once you learn the characters, they suck you into the story。 Definitely recommend。 DifferentTook a minute to get into, but I think that's because there are so many POVs to keep up with。 Once you learn the characters, they suck you into the story。 Definitely recommend。 。。。more

Good StoryWhile most of the novels with Labee in them involve sex trafficking, this one had a nice plot twist which added to its complexity。

Another masterpiece from EislerThis book continues the story from The killer collective with some fresh faces。 Superb plot and writing。 Just gets better and better。 A must read。

The “The Chaos Kind” was a complex and exciting read。 I had difficulty keeping track of all the characters and their different names。 I believe that anyone who enjoys a fast paced book about spying, espionage, and how to survive lethal enemies。 I gave this book a 5/5 rating because I just finished the book and I’m still on an adrenaline rush!Thank you Amazon Kindle to read this book for free! Now I will be reading more Barry Eisner books。 Enjoy。

WowThere were so many primary characters in this book I couldn’t keep track of them until I got halfway through it。 Action packed suspenseful mysterious and lots of twists and turns。 This book was truly a great read。

I found the Livia Lone #1 book very compelling because it chronicles the victim's journey to fighting back。 #2 was okay, but the focus was diluted。 I picked this one up as a free read, and it is not for me at all。 It's all tactics and violence and nothing else。 I found the Livia Lone #1 book very compelling because it chronicles the victim's journey to fighting back。 #2 was okay, but the focus was diluted。 I picked this one up as a free read, and it is not for me at all。 It's all tactics and violence and nothing else。 。。。more

The whole crew…Looking for a great fast paced thriller? You can always count on one of Barry Eisler’s tales featuring John Rain and his crew。

Definitely chaos!Every time I thought I had this story figured out, there was another twist or turn。 Eisler is a master storyteller!

Exciting all the way throughIt was an easy read。 Fast paced most of the time。 The characters were well developed and engaging。 They played well off each other。

Richard Provencher

Suspense filled with skilled operativesLiked the realism of skills operatives and loath the deep state corruption which rings true today。 Highly recommend this book。

Very good book。 I wonder why everybody has two names and are referred to as John and Rains at different times or Livia and Labbe for example。 It is confusing and doesn't make any sense to me。 Overall it is a good read with a lot of action。 Very good book。 I wonder why everybody has two names and are referred to as John and Rains at different times or Livia and Labbe for example。 It is confusing and doesn't make any sense to me。 Overall it is a good read with a lot of action。 。。。more

Excellent I couldn’t put this down and read to the end knowing I’d be disappointed when it was finished and hoping for more。 Felt I got to know the characters in a small but intimate way and was right there with them doing the “right” thing。 As for thinking something like this couldn’t possibly happen…better think again!!

Good Read! The varied cast was hard to follow at times。 It was however, a good read。 I hope to read some more of this authors work。

Mr Jeffery

An excellent read。 A new author for me but I will certainly read some more of his work。 Would thoroughly recommend

Another WinnerAnother winner by Barry。。 I have enjoyed all his books and look forward to them。 Even the minor characters are interesting but Livia, Dox and John Rain stand out。。 Barry tells me this book will need help from the fans, I think it should sell itself。 I rate Barry among my favorites, namely John Grisham, Daniel Silva and Lee Child。。

Hopeful for the futureI absolutely loved every character in this book, good, bad or otherwise。 I sincerely hope to see more interactions in the future! I can't say much without giving anything away, but I will say this: I couldn't put it down until I had read all of it。 Hopeful for the futureI absolutely loved every character in this book, good, bad or otherwise。 I sincerely hope to see more interactions in the future! Another great Barry Eisler read!I’ve been eagerly awaiting the release of this book, and the plot weaving, twisting and excitement I expect are all present! And so are the unique array of characters we’ve all grown to love who comprise the killer collective - Dox, Larrison, Kanezake, Livia, Delilah and of course, Rain。 The only disappointing part for me, is that I read it straight through, and now I’ve come full circle and am right back to eagerly awaiting the release of the next book! Please, hurry, lol。If anyone tries to say though, that these are just mindless books with lots of killing, please allow me to give a few examples of vocabulary used in this book (all of which I had to look up): ambit, propitiate, riposte, extant, calumny, insouciance。 And truly, those are just a few of the words which made me have to stop reading and look them up。 Maybe take it a little bit easier on those of us who are less educated than you, Mr。 Eisler, and use $20 words instead of $50 words? I don’t mind looking up a few words in a book, but too many really interrupts the flow。 That’s never been the case before this book。Lastly… thank you for including the beautiful reference and definition of ‘amaeru’。I loved learning that!! 。。。more

High octane, high body count。 Interesting premise with a big cast of characters。 The body count could have been a little lower, but then I don’t think the author was aiming for credibility。

Man! Another great book。 The team gets some great additions, Kanasaki matures, Livia and Dox dance a little closer, Larison complains a tiny bit less about becoming human, Rain-and Delilah get dragged out of retirement yet manage to more clearly define future reasons for doing so。 Oh, and of course bad people get dead in exciting ways。 And yet again I am left wanting more。 More, more more。 Thank you Barry。 Really, thank you

A fun story where you know everything will work out in the end。 I appreciated being introduced to the characters in stages, so I wasn't given a slew of names to try to keep straight。 A fun story where you know everything will work out in the end。 I appreciated being introduced to the characters in stages, so I wasn't given a slew of names to try to keep straight。 。。。more

Great Thriller Well constructed characters, well thought out and believable plot- “Ripped from the headlines”。 Eisler really knows how to write a thriller!

Typical Spy ThrillerI 'm going to give up spy thrillers as they are no longer fun to read。 You can never decide which side anyone is on and I no longer enjoy them。 Typical Spy ThrillerI 'm going to give up spy thrillers as they are no longer fun to read。 You can never decide which side anyone is on and I no longer enjoy them。 。。。more

This novel was offered as part of the Amazon Kindle "First Reads" program and, being familiar with Barry Eisler (John Rain series), I snatched it up。 I must admit that, for the first half or so, it plodded along and there were so many characters involved (referred to by multiple names), my head was swirling (-1 star)。 It wasn't until the team fully assembled, roles were assigned, I began recognizing the various names/nicknames, and the manhunt started that I became thoroughly enamored and engage This novel was offered as part of the Amazon Kindle "First Reads" program and, being familiar with Barry Eisler (John Rain series), I snatched it up。 I must admit that, for the first half or so, it plodded along and there were so many characters involved (referred to by multiple names), my head was swirling (-1 star)。 It wasn't until the team fully assembled, roles were assigned, I began recognizing the various names/nicknames, and the manhunt started that I became thoroughly enamored and engaged。 What an exciting ride! Always a fan!Fast paced, lots of action and surprises。 I’ve been a fan for a long time - I’ll look forward to whatever comes next。

Not quite a five star review but what the heck。 The lead characters are so unique that I really enjoy this series。 Very much like the Seven Samurai and other stories like that。 Bunch of hardened good guys and gals come together to protect the innocent and kick some ass against some really corrupt buttheads。 The main characters are all flawed, deadly and decent。 Nice combo。

Secret videos cause chaos for high places officials。It starts as a court case。 The criminal jailed can't be touched so they go after the prosecuter。 Everything brakes loose as more info comes out。 Secret videos cause chaos for high places officials。It starts as a court case。 The criminal jailed can't be touched so they go after the prosecuter。 Everything brakes loose as more info comes out。 。。。more
